Creative Cloud 2015 Compatibility

Another day, another batch of Creative Cloud updates. I’m happy to announce that Alien Skin products install and run just fine in Photoshop CC 2015 and Lightroom CC 2015.

For Photoshop users, there is one complication. If you updated from an older version of Photoshop CC, the updater doesn’t bring over your plug-ins to the new version. To fix this, just download and run the latest installers from our downloads page.

I am wondering if image doctor 2 and bokeh 2 are compatible with Adobe cc 2015. I did re-download them but I cannot get image doctor to save as a adobe plug in….I have not tried bokeh 2 yet.

      Hi Anna,

The products you listed are not the current versions, so they haven’t been updated to work with Adobe CC 2015. Image Doctor was discontinued years ago and Bokeh has been integrated into Exposure 7. You’ll need to upgrade to the latest versions in order to have them compatible with Adobe’s new CC release. Do you need help with that?

    what about exposure 6?? –

    thanks –

    • Jimmy Beech June 30, 2015 at 7:36 am

      Hi JoNo,

We constantly test and update the current product, but there’s not enough time in the day to update the older versions. We can’t guarantee that an older product will run even though it may work. Our helpdesk have plenty of tips and tricks that they can help you with older products. I’d fill out a support ticket and see if it’s possible. Here’s the link:

Hi, unfortunately I’ve just upgrade to creative cloud cc 2015 and photoshop doesn’t see or open Exposure 7 as a “filter”.
I’ve download the latest version of exposure 7 (as you recommend), but it doesn’t work.
Could you please let me know how can I solve this big problem?

    Thank you very much!

i don’t know if it was the update to Yosemite or the update to CC 2015, but Exposure 7 is taking forever to process. It loads right away but then when I click to accept the changes and return to PS, it takes anywhere up to 45 mins to process the file. Granted I’m underpowered with 4 gigs of memory on my MacBook Air, but it worked fine before the update. Haven’t been able to find anyone else on the web with this problem. Have you heard of this? I’ve got a new fast iMac coming this week but I often use my Air to edit and now can’t use Exposure. Thanks.

I missed out on the July 2 cutoff to update, I tried through a mail set yesterday to upgrade and I used all the codes I have and even though I purchased everything separately in the past, I was trying to purchase the bundle now and it would not recognize any of the codes.

I had them sent to me, figuring I copied them incorrectly, but they still do not work.

I wanted to buy the bundle upgrade instead of having them all separately as well as Eye candy, is that not possible or do I have to purchase them all once more?

      Hi Julie,

Sounds like you’re having some trouble. Let’s have you submit a support ticket and we’ll get you setup with working codes. Here’s the link:

      • Julie July 8, 2015 at 12:00 pm

        Hi Jimmy,

I actually submitted a ticket yesterday at 2pm and haven’t heard anything other then they send me the codes but nothing works.

((Your request (#68602) has been received, and is being reviewed by our support staff.))

I am not sure why and it seems like I am chasing my tail here 🙁

As you can probably see, I’ve been a very loyal and supportive customer for years and use your products faithfully.

Not sure what more I can do on this end other then write you. 🙁

          Hi Julie,

I’m seeing correspondence from my side of things. You should have an email from 9:07 am this morning. There were questions pertaining to upgrading your current products to the newest versions. Sometimes the emails are caught as spam, though. I’ll send you another reply from here just to double check. Can you look in your spam folder?

My copy of Blow Up 3 will load into Corel Painter 2016 just fine, will open in Corel plugins, but will crash the Corel program when I try to save a Blow Up 3 adjusted image ….Corel 2016 says that they are 64 bit …is this my problem? is Blow Up 3 64 bit?

Any chance that Blow Up 3 will be made compatable with Apple Affinity Photo?

    • Jimmy Beech August 20, 2015 at 7:12 am

      Hi Steve,

I’d try the helpdesk. We don’t officially support Corel, but there may be a solution that makes it work. The system requirements page shows which system configurations Matt and Robert use for testing. Here’s a link to the support page to open a ticket.

This is the first request I’ve seen for Affinity support, but that’s not to say we haven’t had them. I’ll let the programming team know to look into it.

Hi. I’m using FLEXI SIGN PRO (SAi) , can I use the Alien Skin with the Flexi.

    Thank you

    • Jimmy Beech November 4, 2015 at 10:24 am

We don’t directly support Flexi Sign Pro, but Snap Art works as a standalone program, so you still may be able to use it. Here are the system requirements.

  8. Nik Roschko November 18, 2015 at 10:01 am

Good morning! Is CC compatible with Flexi 12? I work at a sign shop and am trying to convince the powers that be to update to CC (they are currently running CS3 & 4), and the main requirement they have in order to move forward is that Flexi be Cloud-compatible.

    • Jimmy Beech November 18, 2015 at 11:06 am

      Hi Nik,

I haven’t had much experience with that product, myself. You may have better luck on FlexiSIGN’s website.

I’m seriously considering flipping my studio from Adobe apps to Affinity Photo & Designer. There are numerous advantages beyond the obvious monetization changes happening at Adobe. The only think preventing this cut-over are the fabulous products from Alien Skin. Blow Up and Eye Candy are core to our wide format design services. Any movement on Affinity support?

    • Jimmy Beech December 31, 2015 at 9:29 am

      Hi Dave!

You can use Affinity as an external editor with Exposure X. Here’s a link to a helpful article that takes you through the process step-by-step.

  10. Joe April 12, 2016 at 2:02 pm

Any chance that Image Doctor or something similar will return? That is one of the best pieces of software I’ve ever found.

    • Jimmy Beech April 12, 2016 at 3:33 pm

Hi Joe! We’ve thought about resurrecting some of Image Doctor’s features. Would you want it integrated with Exposure, or are you thinking more something on it’s own?

  11. Laura June 28, 2016 at 9:29 pm

I have eyecandy 6. Do I need to purchase an upgrade to eye candy 7 now?

    • Jimmy Beech June 29, 2016 at 2:23 pm

It’s not required, no. Version 6 of Eye Candy can be installed into Photoshop CC, but it takes some special handling. Reach out to the helpdesk and we’ll step you through how.

Is there an update to work with the latest CC Photoshop 2015.5 yet?

    • Jimmy Beech July 12, 2016 at 6:38 pm

      Hi Megan!

Yes – we have one for CC 2015.5. We’re working on an article that talks all about it right now, actually. There is a short note about the update on the support page in the big blue box.
