Photo of the Month Winner

Clint Hudson is the next official Alien Skin Software Photo of the Month award winner. Let’s all give him a big high five and pat on the back for taking the March title. As a quick reminder, the monthly photo-sharing theme last month was Positive.

Judge

Fashion photographer Jay Marroquin joined as our guest judge for this contest. We selected the top shots from the group and compared notes with Jay on which one should take the title. One image stood out as a clear leader from all of the great-looking photo submissions last month.

Photo of the Month Award Winner

Congratulations to Clint Hudson!

Jay shared a few thoughts about the image. He said, “The top pick photo is a really great looking shot. It looks like it was done with special attention both with the camera and during post processing. It has a classic oil painting feel to it and the effect was applied tastefully. I have seen a similar look to this using a pinhole camera, which is a really unique way of seeing things. I like it.”

Clint Hudson posts a lot of great work in the Exposure Users group on Facebook. From what I understand about him, photography is simply an escape from the same routine everyday. And as part of being our monthly winner, he gets a bunch of goodies, including a spot on the blog, so below is a little more about him.

How did you get into photography?

I extensively traveled when I was young. During that time, photography was a fun and necessary hobby. I rekindled my interest several years ago and have been exploring different styles and treatments since.

How would you describe your style?

I strive to let the subject shine through the use of photography techniques, innovative software, and combining textures.

If you had to choose one lens which one would it be and why?

When you live on a small island, you have to go with a short lens. I’d choose the 16mm-35mm wide angle.

What piece of equipment would you most like to get your hands on?

I’m eagerly anticipating the arrival of the new 5DX.

How has Alien Skin’s software changed how you process your photos?

Your software is innovative, it allows for unrestricted creativity, and it’s always reliable. Each tool Alien Skin makes is a great creative asset.

Prizes

Winners receive a few swanky items from us. They get one of our super soft American Apparel t-shirts, a laser-engraved 16gb thumb drive loaded with all of our photography software, and we feature them right here on the blog.

Monthly Theme

The monthly photo-sharing theme for April is Anticipation. If you’d like to enter, get your best choice shot for the topic posted before the 1st of May. The theme is more of a suggestion rather than a hard-and-fast rule. We welcome everyone to share their best with us in the group.

Stay connected with all of the happenings in the Exposure and Snap Art groups over on Facebook. I pin the announcement post made on the first of each month. If you’re ever in doubt, head over there.

Runner Ups

There are plenty more top choice shots, some of them are listed below. Congratulations to everyone that submitted last month. These are amazing!
