Flickr Photo of the Month

The Photo of the Month award for May goes to this striking image entitled “sheltered” by Mary Cufflin from Leicester, England.

In my book, a successful image is one that makes you think. Often, a photo can leave you with more questions than answers and technical perfection is seldom relevant. This photograph leaves me feeling uncomfortable – the centred subject, the negative space, the fact we don’t see the child’s face; but it works because it makes me stop and think.

Mary wins a copy of our Photo Bundle with a free upgrade to Exposure 6 when it hits the shelves here in a few weeks. Not only that, but she also gets an Alien Skin Software t-shirt just in time for the arrival of the summer.

Don’t forget, winners of the Photo of the Month award will be in a strong position to win the Photo of the Quarter award in July. This quarter’s prize is the amazing Fujifilm X-T1 with an awesome 56mm f/1.2 lens! Enter now by posting on our Flickr page or our brand new Alien Skin Software User Group on Facebook. Good luck!

All this could be yours!

Here’s a photo of our last Photo of the Quarter winner, Marco Struijlaart of the Netherlands. As you can see, Marco was pretty pleased with his Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L II USM lens!

Many Thanks

I’ve got the bundle that includes Exposure 5, and am very curious how much the upgrade to 6 will cost. It might be helpful now for me to budget for it later in June. Also want to tell you I can hardly wait to see its vintage and vignette improvements in action! I have an enormous project archiving photos of my ethnic family history going back to the late 1880’s, and actually to the present. Countless photos and so many of them black and white! I’m already visualizing amazing, beautiful vintage presentations of these photos for threefold purposes: my book–a chronology of family history and heritage; a photo album–just pictures and captions; and a major slide show production using ProShow Gold, which I already have.
In case you’d like to know, it was an article in Photography Magazine last summer or so where they featured Alien Skin. I looked you up online and fell in love with the products! I tore those pages out and saved it and was finally able to order–I think it was last November or so.

    Doris Sampson, a happy customer!
