Flickr Photo of the Month – December 2013

We’re pleased to announce the winner of the Alien Skin Photo of the Month for December 2013. Selected from the entries in our official Flickr group over the last four weeks, the award goes to this gorgeous shot of Somersby Falls in New South Wales, Australia, by Wayne G.

You guys have been sharing some really great work, so it was by no means an easy choice. But what stood out about this photo was the composition of the lines of the falls, with the flow of the water and the wet rocks leading our eyes right through the frame. On a technical level, the execution of the long exposure to provide the milky effect of the falls in motion is very well done. The subtle use of a B&W filter in Exposure works well as it enhances the image rather than overpowering it. All in all, a fantastic image that works well on multiple levels.

Big congratulations to Wayne, who wins our Photo Bundle to help him keep on churning out great images into 2014!
