case studies: ted byrnebio Here are Ted Byrne’s thoughts on photography. For many more images, visit Ted’s blog. “I edit business magazines, write, and do economist stuff. That's cool. Lots of years ago I was a professional photographer, which taught me how hard that job was. So I went off to economist school and photography became 'merely' an obsession! Now's the greatest time to have photographic skills. Yippee.... we can finally do whatever we can imagine just like every other artist. Remember, there is nothing 'natural' about a pixel - they exist to be enhanced. The photographic artist is in the 'wonder-business" because, well, art without wonder is merely craft. The new digital post processing filters have gotten the stink of developer and fixer out of my clothes but they're no more dramatic post processing tools than say nylon stockings used for diffusion, constructing un-sharp masks, poly contrast filters, burning and dodging with hot developer, and don't get me started on solarization. My wife Rita and I live in Lancaster, PA with our furry dog Rocco where we're part of the Golden Age of photography.” case studies
