Bokeh 2 Around the Corner
I hope you've caught your breath from the excitement of Exposure 3, because Bokeh 2 will ship on August 24th! Every part of Bokeh 2 has improvements, from the user interface to performance and new effects. You can see a few examples below and at the top of the newsletter.
New motion blur!
Bokeh continues to accurately simulate shallow depth-of-field and tilt-shift lenses. Here are some highlights of the new improvements.
• Now Bokeh handles specialized lens optics with motion blur or even a spiral blur that no real lens can create.
• You can combine multiple focus regions to handle complex situations.
• The vignette is even more flexible with the ability to cover an area independent of the blur region.
• Film grain can be simulated in the blurred region to match the grain of the original photo, making the result look natural.
• Speed!

Bokeh 2 includes much requested Lightroom and 64-bit Photoshop CS5 support. The user interface has been completely rewritten for a more interactive preview and slick controls for combining multiple focus regions.
The upgrade will be $99 for owners of Bokeh 1. Free upgrades will automatically be sent to owners of Bokeh 1 who purchased in April 2010 or later.

Illustration Look with Snap Art

Valdo Peixoto has developed a gritty comic book look using Snap Art. Snap Art has a Comics filter, but this is a process quite different that uses the Oil Paint filter as one step in the process. Take a look at some examples of his work on Flickr here. Very cool stuff! Valdo's professional photography is unrelated to this "illustration" project, but it is great too and definitely worth a look.
Exposure 3 Bug Fix
We recently updated Exposure 3 to fix a few bugs. One bug prevented saturation from being boosted. Another caused a compatibility conflict with other commercial plug-ins. We recommend that everyone install the update. You can download them here:
