Case Study Explosion
We just added case studies to the web pages of all of our products. These are real world examples made by pro photographers and real customers. You'll see some beautiful shots and get some ideas for creative uses of our plug-ins. Just go to any of our product pages and look for "case studies" in the left margin. You can get to our product pages by clicking on any product on our front page.
Eckehart Röscheisen of Screen Online interviewed me recently. Luckily, he left the interview in English even though the rest of the site is in German. Check it out if you’d like to learn more about Alien Skin Software.

Marilyn Sholin is a master at using software to turn photos into natural looking works of art. She just came out with a new book that shows how she does it called The Art of Digital Photo Painting. I was impressed to see that every single review on the Amazon web site gave it 5 stars. Our Snap Art plug-in is one of her tools and is shown off in a few places in the book. Marilyn writes, "Great for stylizing photos or graphics, Snap Art works without laborious hand editing and is very versatile." Marilyn has a You Tube channel and there you can see her give an introduction to Snap Art.

Blow Up Review in Photoshop User
Dave Huss wrote a glowing 5 diamond review of Blow Up 2 in the January/February issue of Photoshop User Magazine. The best part is Dave's real world test. "To test the product, I enlarged several images and submitted them to the inspectors of a major stock photography house. These inspectors have an insane eye for detail. Of the five photos that I enlarged by 300% and then submitted, four were accepted. In short, it was pretty impressive. The resized images are sharp and didn't suffer from the softness associated with image resizing." If you have an account on the NAPP web site, you can read the full review there.

Bokeh Reviews
Neil Bennett wrote a 4 out of 5 star review of Bokeh in the UK magazine Digital Arts. Neil said, "Bokeh includes fine-tuning controls over aperture type – including the diaphram shape and the 'creaminess' over the highlights – and vignetting, to mimic real lenses in a way that Photoshop's blur tools can't match."
Macerella (Joyce Ling) wrote a positive review of Bokeh. She goes into a lot of detail and I am glad to see that she watched our tutorial videos. Those always help people to understand Bokeh quickly. Early in the review she says, "Take a look at these examples on the Alien Skin website, and you will get excited as to the possibilities with this software, as I did!"
