Chrome

We have received quite a few compliments on our main Chrome example, so we decided to show how it was made. In this video, Jeff Butterworth shows how he quickly made the picture and gives some advice along the way.

As Jeff points out in the video, the reflection map is the most influential choice in how your results look. Some reflection maps look more metallic than others. The ones below are Jeff’s favorites and most of the factory presets are based on them.

Bright Ones that are mostly shades of gray

Indoor – Office Space
Nature – Mountains
Nature – Outdoor

Darker Ones

Road – NYC
Nature – Cliff (has some blue sky for traffic cop sunglasses)
Nature – Forest
Nature – Garden (some greens make it good for outdoor situations)
Nature – Palm Trees (dark with some gold in the middle)
Nature – Sunset (you guessed it, good for a sunset situation)
